What is Tutorvista? For those who can afford only, in general you get what you pay for, Tutorvista can be a solution for learning, specially for students who cannot stand crowds or possible distractions of a classroom. I am a bit like this myself. They provide online homework help (school/college) on a variety of subjects but is mostly centered into math (algebra homework help, calculus, trigonometry, geometry). Their chat rooms is dedicated meaning that the student, is isolated with the tutor alone, safe from chat interferences.
Credentials. There are a few testimonials on their website, yet for the kind of investment they request, and to make sure what TutorVista provides services that performs, there is a trial (free online homework help let’s say). They have all US States Curriculum, meaning that they mostly know what they are proposing to teach.
Rates. Their rates are competitive compared to other private tutors sites, yet, at $200 a month for college tutoring, that could be as expensive as college itself, especially in developing countries.
Bottom Line. I am a big believer in education as the best investment, and the proof is I started say-web, nevertheless, I have a Peter Lynch approach that says: “get the facts before any decision” (One Up Wall Street, page 183), I would thoroughly test the trial service, and inquire around acquaintances before putting any money down, after that, Tutorvista could turn to be a great solution.
