I have been developing websites for more than 10 years, and as you can see, I do have some experience. I currently hold accounts with 3 different web hosting services, aside the dedicated Linux I have for the Say-Web website.
The Importance of Web Hosting Selection.
Here is a few factors, and their importance when taking in to consideration which web host to choose.
Windows - Many times sites running a windows server will work far easier with foreign alphabets.
Linux - There are not many viruses for Linux so is far more stable, faster.
Bandwidth – Some sites have a lot of video, like say-web so they may demand a dedicated server with more bandwidth
Scripting - Widows supports PHP while ASP will not run on a Linux server. What language is the site written in?
Hosting Location. Another important factor recently released by Google that search results will display sites according to their hosting location. Meaning a site hosted in the UK is most likely to have a higher ranking in England. This is vital for sites that rely on pay per click advertisement.
Commissions - There are some hosts that will pay for affiliates, residual every year (my prefference), other a flat fee (BlueHost gives up to $65 to any new account) and some others plain resell.
Backup Layers - If it is not a web brochure, it may need to be backup with a certain frequency – vital for blogs, for example

Eventually you create your own taste and preferences like I did, based on your own needs. 4CheapWebHosting provides a reliable, extensive, comparison chart for Affordable Web Hosting which I can endorse for webmasters that are researching. They cover over 200 different web hosts, and 400 packages. Their rating is quite accurate, I would be glad to explain in some cases. It should not be your only visit when deciding, nevertheless, is worth taking a look!

With havin so much written content do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright violation? My site has a lot of completely unique content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my agreement.
